Special Edition New Releases

Hello fellow book dragons! 👋🏻

This is the very first installment of the brand new BookHeart Blog! And what else would we feature besides...special editions? April is turning out to be an incredible month for book releases! With many more beautiful books coming out before the month is over.

Today we are highlighting just 10 of the amazing editions releasing between now and the end of the month. If you missed Part 1 of this series you can find it over on our IG here.

Alright! Let’s get started!

First up is The Auction by Sadie Kincaid. In this spicy, mafia romance, a young woman is sold at an auction to a reclusive billionaire. This deluxe limited edition will feature a foiled-stamped hardcover, matching end pages, and beautiful floral sprayed edges. Look at how gorgeous this one will be!

Next, we have Divergent by Veronica Roth. Most of us have seen this title before. It has been 15 years since Divergent’s original release, and we couldn’t be more excited about these deluxe limited-edition versions. These will come with a brand-new cover design, a foiled hardcover, shimmery stenciled edges, and new exclusive content.

Thirdly, we have The River She Became by Emily Varga. Said to be a mix of The Mummy and The Cruel Prince by Holly Black, this brand new romantasy story follows Yaseema as she enters the fae world to find a relic to save her people. This limited edition will feature foil on the dust jacket and hardcover, gorgeous edges, and an exclusive map! We can’t wait for this one!

Fourth, we have Riftborne by Grenwich & Lennox. Originally published in 2024, this romantasy novel is the first in The Esprithean Trilogy. It follows a shadow-wielding woman named Fia as she navigates a world where her power is a death sentence. It is getting an exclusive edition from none other than Waterstones. Their edition will feature brand new designed edges, and a new bonus chapter. That sword on the edges is just calling our names!

Next up we have Thistlemarsh by Moorea Corrigan. This brand-new historical fantasy follows Mouse Dunne as she navigates life after WWI. When a mysterious faerie appears and offers her a deal, she has to decide if the prize is worth the price. While the original hardback will be gorgeous, Waterstones is offering an exclusive edition featuring an alternate cover, and beautiful ombré sprayed edges.

Our next special edition, number 6 if you’re counting, is Blood Bound by Ellis Hunter. This first installment of The Cursed Covenant series is said to be packed full of magical duals (between a witch-princess and a dragon rider), rival kingdoms, political intrigue, and much more. With at least two special editions so far, this one will be at the top of our TBR. Special editions will feature reversible dust jackets, sprayed edges, designer endpages, and foil stamped covers.

Seventh on our list is The Throne of Broken Gods by Amber V. Nicole. This is the second installment of the special edition versions of this series. It will feature stenciled edges, full-color illustrated endpages with character art, a custom designed hardcover, AND an exclusive bonus scene. This one is a must have for any romantasy lover!

Taking a break from romance and fantasy, the eighth book on our list is Pachinko by Min Jin Lee. This one has been dubbed a modern classic, making the New York Times 100 Best Books of the 21st Century list. Originally published in 2014, this historical fiction story follows a poor Korean family who immigrates to Japan in search of a better life. Its special edition will feature a newly designed dust jacket, redesigned endpages, a foil-stamped hardcover, and stenciled edges.

Next up is Japanese Gothic by Kylie Lee Baker. This one is off our beaten path as well with its blend of Japanese mythology, historical horror, and gothic components. This one follows two individuals connected by a haunted house - one a modern-day criminal, and the other a 19th-century female samurai. This novel will have an exclusive edition offered by Waterstones. It will feature an exclusive cover, ombre sprayed edges, and will be signed!

Last, but certainly not least, is Bulletproof by K.M. Moronova. This one, by a best-selling indie turned hybrid author, is a dark romance focusing on a special ops lieutenant, and a woman running from her past. It is said to be fast-paced, action-packed, and spicy. The limited deluxe edition will include custom designed sprayed edges, and spot gloss!
